Here's an overview of the scientific theory that oil deposits are continuously generated from methane by heat and pressure deep within the Earth's crust. If this theory is true, it would mean that there is essentially an unlimited supply of the stuff, and would confirm that the "peak oil" story is bunk.

The so-called "Peak Oil" crisis seems to be the favorite bogeyman at many websites these days, but I question the data that supports the hysteria. Energy companies like Enron have shown that they can get away with collosal lying and massive ripoffs. How easy would it be for them to lie about their "reserves" and who could verify those figures one way or the other?

These organizations profit greatly from the artificial energy scarcity. They effectively control the politicians, the regulators, the media, and the "environmental" movement. They have a century long track record of manipulation. In the absence of hard facts to the contrary, history suggests that the "peak oil" story is a scam.

Here's a book that was written over 20 years ago by an eyewitness to the enormous oil and gas fields in Alaska that have been "locked up" for some reason.
