"A little learning is a
dangerous thing"

"Since G.W. Bush became president, the American people have lost their Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Amendment protections. Their phone calls, emails, and even private discussions can be (and are) monitored by federal police agencies without court order. Beyond that, virtually all of their major banking transactions are constantly monitored, as well as their travel and shopping activities."

Note that Bush has only a few months left in office. Remember the Waco attack, and then imagine Hillary Clinton with these powers in her grasp.

"A cell phone captured video of a 23-year-old student being administered multiple Taser shocks by UCLA police on Tuesday. The UCLA student was hit with the Taser shocks multiple times while he was in the Powell Library Computer Lab. According to the paper [he] did not show ID to community service officers who were conducting a random check."

This student was simply minding his own business in the campus library, and was not posing a threat to anyone when the "community service" goon squad decided to demonstrate the power of the State over the individual. Watch the video.

"I cannot view the current debate about the Bush Administration's latest attempt to remove all checks on its power without thinking about how my German and Austrian grandparents must have watched with disbelief as Europe sank into the madness of fascism. I think about how unprecedented those changes were, and how difficult it must have been to believe that things could really become as bad as they did."

"It was a dark hour indeed on Thursday when the United States Senate voted to end the Constitutional Republic...giving the president and his agents the power to capture, torture and imprison forever anyone - American citizens included - whom they arbitrarily decide is an "enemy combatant." ...What is safe to do or say today might imperil your freedom or your life tomorrow. You can never know if you are on the right side of the law, because the "law" is merely the whim of the Leader and his minions.

"Unfortunately, many Americans, like other people in history, don't want to face the disquieting truth about the dark and ominous direction in which their nation is currently headed. They simply wish to bury their heads in the sand and not analyze too closely the logical implications of the president's and the Pentagon's position. They don't want to face that we are now traveling in uncharted waters with respect to dictatorship."

"Under George W. Bush, America is fast following the footsteps of past totalitarian regimes. The signs are ubiquitous and unmistakable!... The grossly misnamed USA Patriot Act is the federal law which encapsulates the power-mad machinations of the Bush administration. For all intents and purposes, it gives to the executive branch of government dictatorial powers."

Just like Hitler's "Enabling Act" of March 1933.

"Former U.S. Ambassador Joseph Wilson, who proved Bush lied to launch us into war with Iraq, says 'fascist forces have seized control of the levers of power'. Americans are being told that their Republic has become a fascist police state -- they just need ears to hear."

Concise, well-written article with over 100 footnotes.

Here's a recent film by libertarian producer Aaron Russo documenting the conversion of America from the "Land of the Free" into a fascist dictatorship, highlighting the unconstitutional system of tax slavery. See the entire movie on Google video or DVD.

UPDATE: Aaron Russo died in August, 2007. Volunteers are still working to distribute the film.

"When Adolph Hitler began his ascent to power [in the 1930s], many, if not most, of Germany's Christians believed he was an answer to their prayers... It seems clear to me that the attitudes and actions of Nazi Germany's ministers and churches are being repeated in the United States today."

"My airline tickets had been purchased online and...I went to the Internet to print out my boarding pass. I got a message that said, "Not Allowed." [At the airport kiosk] another error message appeared, "Please see agent." I did. "I'm sorry, sir," she said. "There seems to be a problem. You've been placed on the No-Fly Watch List."

I have been on the No-Fly Watch List for a year. I will never be told the official reason. No one ever is. You cannot sue to get the information. Nothing I have done has moved me any closer to getting off the list..."
